Review of 'The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue' on 'Storygraph'

This book was nice to read.
It set me thinking about immortality. How would it be to live hundreds of years, if nobody can remember you?

Lenny de Rooy: Alice's Adventures under Water (Paperback, 2021, Millennyum Publications)

If you enjoyed Lewis Carroll’s books Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and …

Review of "Alice's Adventures under Water" on 'Storygraph'

I really enjoyed reading this book.
For some of the poems I could easily see where they came from and that made me smile.
Several references to the original books also brought me a bright smile.
I think that the book is quite good, though of course it could have been even better.
At some points it feels a little bit serious.
I am not sure whether Carroll would be content with this book, I think he might be, but he would surely have a list with things that could be better. Carroll was quite perfectionist...

Bram Stoker: Dracula (1997)

Dracula is a novel by Bram Stoker, published in 1897. An epistolary novel, the narrative …

Review of 'Dracula' on 'Storygraph'

Dracula was actually quite nice to read.
At first, the story advanced quite slowly in my opinion, but towards the middle it became faster.
Sometimes the story haunted me in the night, but fortunately this was not that bad and it never lasted long.

Rick Vermunt: Bijltijd, Wolfnacht, Runenkracht (Dutch language, 2019)

Review of 'Bijltijd, Wolfnacht, Runenkracht' on 'Storygraph'

Op zich is het wel een leuk boek, maar soms zijn er dingen waar ik zo mijn vraagtekens bij heb.
Het is soms wel een beetje grof.

reviewed Puur Wit by Patty van Delft (Terras Altas, #1)

Patty van Delft: Puur Wit (Hardcover, Dutch language, 2020, Celtica Publishing)

Review of 'Puur Wit (Terras Altas, #1)' on 'Storygraph'

Wilkie Collins: The woman in white

The Woman in White is Wilkie Collins's fifth published novel, written in 1859 and set …

Review of 'The woman in white' on 'Storygraph'

This book is quite enjoyable. It contains a lot of masterly plot twists and once you start reading, it almost compels you to read on without stopping.
Some this book is slow-paced, which is not completely true, in my humble opinion. Although the pace might be a bit slow in a certain way, the story keeps carrying you on and thus it can feel like a medium paced or even fast paced book.

Jonathan Swift: Gulliver's travels (1993)

Gulliver's Travels, or Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. In Four Parts. By …

Review of "Gulliver's travels" on 'Storygraph'

It was quite a nice book to read.
It is a satire, though I am quite sure that I did not notice everything. Actually, if it weren't for the introduction and notes, I would not have recognized a lot of things. But that is probably logical, since there are more notes than pages...

Veo Corva: Non-Player Character (EBook, 2021, Witch Key Fiction)

32-year old Tar feels like a Non-Player Character in their own life. They’ve been utterly …

Review of 'Non-Player Character' on 'Storygraph'

Non-Player Character is an absolutely lovely book about adults who get unexpectedly teleported to a different world, where they have magic and other special abilities. It is not only about their wonderful adventure in Vanthis, but it is also about how changing your setting doesn't change you.
It is about how everyone has their own difficulties and so much more.
It is just an incredibly well-written book and I truly recommend you to read it if you haven't already.
This might be one of the few books that I want to read a second or maybe even a third time. Maybe this has actually became one of my favourite books.
