Ree poured tea for Usther and Smythe, then sat down with a glass of water for herself. Usther glanced at the tea uneasily. Did it look a little pale? She decided not to ask whether Ree had allowed it to steep properly this time. Her housemate was a joyless bore who didn't drink tea, so it was kind of her to make it up — even if she always made it rather unpleasant.
